Los Angeles native Beth Hart the blues-influenced rock singer and street performer who made her debut in 1995 on Immortal and gained attention for her raw, outspoken personality as well as her gifted musicianship, heart-warming live shows, and a voice compared to that of Janis Joplin. Chuck Taylor, Billboard's October 2nd issue of 1999, said that Hart is "the perfect example of a natural woman" and described her as "bawdy and hilarious, jovial, with her choices of spiced languages, free-wheeling and freewheeling." But that's nothing to her presence on stage. The tall, lanky singer/songwriter strides and squalls out songs in a band with Mick Jagger . At other times, she takes a place at the piano or centerstage, where her legs are crossed over the chairs and her voice so delicate and painfulthat it's hard to tell if she's crying or if you'll. Hart was a young woman who participated in amateur competitions and also experienced the same reactions. However, she was still a bit wary and had reservations about the industry when she started the professional path. However, traveling the world over was detrimental to the group, and Hart dropped out of sight for over four years, a time spent soul-searching and dealing with problems that come from writing music. After that, determined to give her career a second chance she came back in 1999 with the acclaimed Screamin' for My Supper The album showed Hart's songwriting talents grow with honest, vulnerable songs about facing life's issues.
